Do you need any help after the flooding?
Bradford council are offering help to residents clearing up after the flooding event at the weekend. See the message below:
Flood recovery and gritting updateFlood recovery workBradford Council staff are hard at work trying to help people recover from the recent flooding and bad weather. We are also trying to work out the best ways for people to access financial compensation for the damage they have suffered. Dehumidifiers and skips for household goods which have been damaged by water are being provided to affected properties. With health colleagues, Council staff are contacting all vulnerable residents affected by the weather to see if they need any extra help. We would like to hear from any vulnerable residents who still need help and have not yet been in touch with Council services, or from their neighbours who may be concerned about them. In the spirit of community co-operation we ask you to help your neighbours if you can and if possible remove loose debris from gullies, roads and streets near your property. If you need to report flooded properties or get help with flooding and related issues, please visit our website or telephone 01274 431000. Flooding informationGritting and roadsAs the clean up from Storm Ciara continues, a further Yellow Warning for snow and ice has been issued by the Met Office. Our gritting crews have been out all day treating routes on high ground across the district and they will be out to do a full grit of all Priority One routes from 6pm tonight. Drivers will then patrol and grit when and where needed from 9pm. It will be another early start tomorrow when the drivers will be back out again at 5am to do another full grit of all Priority One routes. We’ve got information on our website about gritting (including a map of our gritting routes), winter driving tips and advice on how to keep warm and help others. You may need to allow extra time on Wednesday morning for journeys and to clear windscreens. Winter and gritting info |
