Lease on football field and pavilion
At its December meeting, the Parish Council decided to offer a 20-year lease to Addingham Football Club on the amenity field off Stockinger Lane, and on part of the sports pavilion. Addingham Scouts already have a lease on their section of the building.
The Parish Council built the pavilion in 2012 to provide a new home for the scouts and the footballers, as their existing facilities had been displaced when the site was reorganised for the new medical centre. A new extension to the building is just being completed, and this will provide additional public facilities close to the MUGA. The MUGA is run by the Parish Council and provided free of charge for use by local residents and sports groups.
The Council is pleased to confirm long term agreements with both tenant groups in the main part of the pavilion – providing a lease to them ensures that there are proper arrangements in place for maintaining the building. With a lease on the field as well, the footballers will be able to apply for grant funding for essential drainage works.
Plans are being developed for further improvements to sporting facilities in Addingham. More news from the Parish Council soon!
